Can diabetes smoke?

My uncle has had diabetes for a while, and he's also a chain smoker. We keep telling him to quit, but he says it doesn't matter since he already has diabetes. Is smoking okay for diabetics, or is it even more harmful for them?

Smoking with diabetes is extremely dangerous, please do not do it. My brother used to smoke heavily despite having high sugar, and he ended up with a severe foot ulcer that took almost a year and multiple surgeries to heal. Your blood vessels are already under stress from sugar, so smoking will only double the risk of blockages. Go see your doctor immediately for a health checkup.

I have thyroid issues and my husband has diabetes, and we both had to strictly give up smoking and bad lifestyle habits. Smoking messes up your metabolism and makes insulin resistance much worse. You must get your HbA1c and lipid profile tested regularly and follow up with your doctor to see how your blood vessels are doing.

No, a diabetic person should absolutely not smoke. Smoking raises blood sugar levels and increases the risk of heart disease significantly. Instead of smoking, focus on a healthy, high-fiber vegetarian diet with leafy greens and sprouts to naturally keep your blood glucose under control.

It is very harmful for the body, beta. Smoking dries up your veins, and when sugar is high, it leads to severe leg pain. Try chewing on some saunf or cardamom whenever you get the urge to smoke, and drink warm water to help clean out your system.

Bhai, direct bolu toh bilkul mat piyo smoke. Diabetes already blocks your blood flow, and smoking will speed up nerve damage and heart issues. Why invite a heart attack early? Quit the cigarettes, eat simple ghar ka khana, and go for a walk daily.

Absolutely not. Smoking with diabetes is like adding fuel to fire and increases your risk of a stroke drastically.

I totally get it, quitting is extremely difficult when you are stressed about your health. But smoking with diabetes increases your risk of kidney and eye complications by a lot. Please try to take small steps to reduce it, your body will really thank you for it.

It is a straight no. Smoking with diabetes is a recipe for cardiovascular disaster. If you want to keep your kidneys and heart safe, you need to dump the cigarettes today and get on a proper treatment plan with your doctor.

I used to panic so much thinking my occasional social smoking had permanently ruined my health after my diabetes diagnosis. But when I completely quit and worked on my diet, my health became completely normal again. It is hard to quit, but your body heals incredibly fast once you stop, so don't lose hope.

Actually, smoking increases insulin resistance and makes it incredibly hard to keep your sugar in target range. I track my heart rate and glucose levels on my smartwatch, and those who smoke with diabetes have way more erratic spikes. It's best to quit smoking if you want to avoid long-term nerve damage.
