Can diabetes eat millet?

My nutritionist suggested incorporating more millets into my diet for diabetes management. Are all types of millets good for diabetics, or should I be careful about certain ones?

Millets like ragi and jowar are wonderful gifts from nature that digest slowly. Eating these clean, whole grains along with simple daily pranayama helps regulate our digestion and keeps the body balanced.

Haan beta, humare yahan toh bajra aur jowar ki roti hi khate hain sab. Ye pachan ke liye bahut accha hota hai aur sharir ko takat deta hai. Isse khoon mein chini dhere-dhere milti hai.

Millets are excellent complex carbs with a solid fiber profile. They are way better than white rice or maida. Combine them with a good source of protein and some daily strength training, and your levels will stay sweet.

Millets are great because they have tons of fiber and keep you full longer during busy office hours. Just substitute your regular roti with jowar or bajra roti. Don't overcomplicate it, keep your diet simple.

I always worry if even healthy grains will spike my sugar levels because some millets have a medium glycemic index. It is probably fine, but maybe test your blood sugar two hours after eating to see how your body reacts to it?

In our family, we are replacing rice with foxtail millet and ragi nowadays. My mother swears by it for sugar control, but my diabetologist said to still keep portion sizes in check. Definitely check with your doc on the amount.
