Can diabetes cause shortness of breath?

Lately, I've been feeling quite breathless, even after light activities, and it makes me quite anxious. I've had diabetes for a number of years. I'm concerned if this shortness of breath could be a complication related to my diabetic condition.

Shortness of breath is not something you should play around with, especially if you have diabetes. It can be a sign of silent heart issues or a dangerous condition called diabetic ketoacidosis. Skip the forums and go straight to an emergency room or see your cardiologist immediately.

Dekho boss, breathlessness is a major red flag. Diabetes can sometimes cause silent heart attacks where you don't feel chest pain, just shortness of breath. Don't sit and wait for opinions here, just call your doctor or head to the nearest hospital hospital right away.

Yes, diabetes can sometimes lead to breathing discomfort, and it can be very distressing. Please don't try to manage this at home. It is best to rest quietly and have someone take you to see a doctor as soon as possible.

I have been helping members here for years, and I must warn you that shortness of breath is a very serious symptom for anyone with diabetes. It could indicate a sudden rise in acid levels in your blood or a heart condition. Please consult your physician immediately to rule out any severe complications.

Never search Google or trust random home tips for breathing difficulties. Shortness of breath in diabetic patients can stem from cardiac issues, kidney fluid buildup, or ketoacidosis. Only a medical professional can diagnose this properly with blood tests and an ECG. Please visit a hospital.

My son had rapid, heavy breathing once when his blood sugars were extremely high. The doctor told us it was a serious complication and we had to rush to the hospital. Please monitor their blood sugar levels right now, and if they are struggling to breathe, take them to a clinic without any delay.

My smartwatch flagged my resting heart rate as unusually high when I was feeling short of breath, which turned out to be related to my blood sugar levels. If you have a pulse oximeter, check your oxygen saturation levels right now. Either way, please schedule an urgent visit with your doctor to get this checked.
