Can diabetes cause seizures?

My brother, who has severe diabetes, recently had a seizure, which was very shocking and frightening for our family. We are trying to understand what might have caused it. Can diabetes actually lead to something as serious as seizures?

I was reading about diabetic emergencies recently and found out that severe hypoglycemia, which is a massive drop in blood sugar, can actually cause seizures or loss of consciousness. It is really scary to think about. If anyone in your family is experiencing this, please seek emergency medical help right away.

Seizures are a very serious medical event and can be triggered by extremely low blood sugar levels. You must go to a reputed hospital and consult an endocrinologist or neurologist immediately. Please don't rely on online forums for something this critical.

I once ignored my severe dizziness and confusion, thinking it was just weakness, until I ended up passing out and having a fit due to a severe sugar crash. It was a massive wake-up call for my family. Please do not wait or ignore these signs; get your doctor to review your medications immediately.

Beta, a seizure is a very grave thing and cannot be cured with simple home remedies. It usually happens when the body's sugar levels fall dangerously low. Please do not give anything by mouth during a seizure, and take the patient to a hospital immediately. May God keep everyone safe.

Yes, my father had a seizure once when his sugar crashed to 40 at night. From experience, I can tell you that you must always keep Glucagon or rapid-acting glucose gel at home, and teach family members how to use it. Most importantly, work closely with your doctor to adjust your insulin dose so this never happens again.

Seizures are dangerous and the emergency treatment and ICU bills can be very expensive. To avoid such situations, it is much cheaper to invest in a reliable home glucometer and check sugars regularly. Please take this seriously and visit a government hospital or affordable clinic to get his treatment plan revised immediately.
