Can diabetes cause plantar fasciitis?

Severe heel pain, especially first thing in the morning, has been bothering me, and my doctor said it sounds like plantar fasciitis. I also have diabetes. I'm wondering if my diabetic condition could be contributing to developing this foot problem.

Oh, I totally feel you on this, heel pain is the absolute worst! Diabetes can actually weaken the tissues in your feet, making you more prone to things like plantar fasciitis. Try using soft, cushioned gel insoles in your shoes and don't walk barefoot at home, it really helps.

Haan ji, diabetes ki wajah se pairon ki nason aur ediyon me bahut dard hota hai. Mere padosi ko bhi subah uthte hi chalne me bahut taklif hoti thi. Aap kisi achhe doctor ko dikhayein aur unki salah se hi koi cream ya dawai lagayein.

I totally get it, that sharp pain in the heel when you first step out of bed in the morning is just agonizing. Diabetes does affect the collagen in your tendons, which makes plantar fasciitis more likely. Please be gentle with yourself, try rolling your foot over a cold water bottle, and do see a doctor.

My orthopedist at the hospital mentioned that glycation due to high blood sugar can stiffen the plantar fascia ligament, leading to chronic heel pain. It is vital to get your HbA1c checked and consult your doctor clearly rather than trying self-treatment. Proper diabetic foot care is essential.

Well, my love for street food didn't help my sugar levels, and soon after, my heels started hurting badly every morning. My doc told me high sugar can cause inflammation in the foot tissues. Now I have to watch my sweets and do foot stretches before I can go out hunting for midnight poha!

Yes, it can cause severe heel pain, but don't rush into buying expensive orthotics or doing high-end scans immediately. Start with a basic sugar test from a local lab which costs around 100-200 rupees, and see a general physician first. Simple calf stretches at home won't cost you anything and can give great relief.

Yes, it is possible for diabetes to cause this kind of foot inflammation. Please try not to strain your feet too much right now. I hope you find some relief soon after consulting your doctor.
