Can diabetes cause panic attacks?

Lately, I've been experiencing sudden bouts of intense anxiety and panic, sometimes feeling like I can't breathe. It's very frightening. I'm diabetic, and I'm wondering if there's any link between my condition and these panic attacks.

As if managing diabetes wasn't exhausting enough, the sudden sugar crashes can make you feel like you are having a full-blown panic attack. When my sugar drops below 70, my heart starts racing and I get terrified for no reason. Keep some sweet biscuits handy and laugh it off if you can!

Yes, physical imbalances like fluctuating blood sugar can deeply affect your nervous system and trigger panic-like feelings. Regular, gentle pranayama like Anulom Vilom has helped me stay calm during these moments. However, please ensure you are regularly consulting your doctor to keep your sugar levels in check.

Hey, take a deep breath, don't stress too much! Sudden anxiety or racing heartbeat is actually a classic sign of low sugar. Next time you feel like this, try to check your levels immediately and have a glass of juice. Talk to your doctor soon to adjust your dosage so you feel more stable.

Beta, fluctuation in blood sugar can disturb your mind and cause sudden restlessness. During such times, drinking a glass of warm water with a little sugar or honey can bring immediate calm if your sugar is low. But please visit your doctor regularly and keep your mind peaceful.

My doctor at Apollo explained that physical symptoms of low blood sugar, like sweating and a racing heart, can easily mimic or trigger panic attacks. It is very important to get a proper clinical evaluation instead of guessing. Do consult your physician clearly about these episodes.

Honestly, yes. When my uncle's sugar drops really low, he gets super anxious and starts sweating, which looks exactly like a panic attack. It is actually called hypoglycemia. If u are feeling like this, please get it checked out by a doc because it is totally manageable.

I completely understand what you are going through, and your feelings are absolutely valid. I used to get terrifying panic attacks and constantly worried about my health, only to realize my sudden sugar drops were causing them. Knowing that it was a physical symptom and not just in my head helped me manage it so much better.
