Can diabetes cause double vision?

My eyesight has been getting worse since my diabetes diagnosis, and recently, I've started seeing things a bit blurry, sometimes even double. My ophthalmologist mentioned that diabetes can affect the eyes, but I wanted to know if double vision specifically is a known complication.

Have faith and stay calm, dear. High blood sugar can cause temporary swelling in the lenses of your eyes or affect the nerves, leading to double vision. Take care of your health, eat simple food, and let a doctor examine your eyes soon.

Double vision is a serious neurological and ophthalmic concern. Diabetes can cause nerve palsies that affect eye muscle movement. Skip the internet searches, book an urgent appointment with an ophthalmologist today.

Actually, double vision is super scary, yaar. High sugar can mess with the nerves controlling your eye muscles. Honestly, don't wait even a day, just go to an eye doc and get it checked immediately.

I literally just recovered from this last month! My blood sugar had spiked to 350 and I started seeing double. My eye doctor put me on strict sugar control and after a few weeks, my vision returned to normal. Please get your levels checked immediately.

Yes, it can. I had diabetic retinopathy and ignored the early signs, which led to permanent vision changes. Double vision can be a sign of nerve palsy or severe eye damage, so please do not delay and consult a specialist right away.

I am new here and thoda scared to ask, but does this happen suddenly or slowly? My father has been complaining about blurry eyes lately. Should we go to a normal doctor first or a special eye doctor?
