Can diabetes cause congestive heart failure?

My doctor has been telling me to manage my diabetes very strictly because of the risk to my heart. Recently, I heard someone talking about congestive heart failure. I'm wondering if my long-standing diabetes could eventually lead to such a serious heart condition.

Yes, it absolutely can. Uncontrolled blood sugar damages the blood vessels and nerves that control your heart, which can eventually lead to heart failure. I keep my sweet cravings in check and monitor my sugar daily just to protect my heart.

I have lived with Type 2 diabetes for 25 years now, and yes, heart risks are very real if you ignore your health. But don't lose heart, with regular medicine and walking, my heart is still functioning quite well. Take your meds on time and stay active.

My father's cardiologist at Apollo explained that diabetes is a major risk factor for heart failure. You really need to ask your doctor clearly about getting an Echo or ECG done regularly to monitor your cardiac health.

While eating amla and keeping a clean diet helps keep the body healthy, heart failure is a very major complication of diabetes. If you feel any breathlessness or swelling in your feet, please do not rely on home tips and go see a doctor immediately.

My family always tells me to drink garlic water for heart health, but for something as serious as heart failure risk in diabetes, medical science is key. High sugar can stiffen the heart chambers, so please consult your doctor and follow their treatment plan diligently.

There is a well-established medical link between diabetes and congestive heart failure due to coronary artery disease and diabetic cardiomyopathy. It's best not to self-diagnose or panic, but definitely consult a cardiologist for a proper risk assessment.

I have hypothyroid and I know how one metabolic issue can affect the rest of your body. Diabetes can silently weaken the heart muscles over time. Please make sure you get regular blood tests and keep follow-ups with your specialist to keep your heart safe.
