Can diabetes cause bacterial infections?

My father has diabetes, and he keeps getting these stubborn skin infections, especially on his feet. We're very careful with his hygiene and diet, but still, thoda problem rehta hai. I'm wondering if his diabetes is making him more prone to these bacterial issues.

High blood sugar actually weakens your immunity, making it easy for bacteria to grow. I go to Aster Medcity for my checkups, and my doc there clearly explained this to me. Please consult your specialist to understand how to keep things safe.

Yes, absolutely. In my 15 years of managing sugar, I have noticed that even small cuts or urinary issues turn into bad infections quickly if glucose is high. Keep your levels in check and you will stay completely fine, don't worry too much.

I have hypertension and my brother has high sugar, and both of us have to be very careful with our health. Uncontrolled diabetes definitely makes you prone to infections because of poor blood flow. Regular checkups and keeping a strict eye on your diet is the only way out.

Yes, it can happen quite easily when sugar levels are high. Please take care of yourself and get a quick blood test done. Sending you lots of strength and good wishes.

My teenage son has Type 1 and we struggle with skin infections quite a lot. I always keep a close watch on his blood sugar levels and make sure his hygiene is on point. Just check with your doctor if you are seeing any recurrent boils or wounds that aren't healing.
