Can diabetes be cured by walking?

My cousin recently suggested that if I walk enough every day, my Type 2 diabetes might actually get cured completely. It sounds a bit too simple to be true, but I'm hopeful. Can diabetes truly be cured just by walking regularly?

My physician clearly explained that Type 2 diabetes cannot be completely cured, but it can absolutely be put into remission. Regular brisk walking for 30-45 minutes improves insulin sensitivity, helping your muscles absorb glucose much better. It is a vital part of management.

No need for fancy gym memberships to manage sugar. Just a simple 45-minute brisk walk in the morning and a light stroll after dinner can bring your sugar levels down significantly. Pair it with less rice and sweet, and you'll see great results.

I have managed my diabetes for 15 years. Walking won't cure it overnight, but it is your best weapon. Tip: walk at a brisk pace where you can talk but not sing, and do it consistently every single day without skipping.

I totally get it, when you are diagnosed, you just want a simple way to make it go away. Walking is extremely beneficial for lowering insulin resistance, but it needs to go hand-in-hand with dietary control. It is a slow, steady journey.

Don't stress over finding a permanent cure. Think of walking as a beautiful daily habit to protect your health. It is highly effective in controlling sugar levels, so just lace up your shoes and enjoy the fresh air daily.

When I was first diagnosed, I felt so defeated and walked for hours hoping it would just disappear. It didn't cure it, but the physical activity really helped lift my mood and eventually brought my HbA1c down. Don't be too hard on yourself.
