Can diabetes affect sperm?

My wife and I are trying to conceive, and I have had Type 2 diabetes for a few years now. We're facing some difficulties, and I'm starting to wonder if my diabetes could be affecting my sperm quality or fertility. Is this a possibility?

Yes, it definitely can. My wife and I were trying for a baby and my sperm count and motility were very low because of my uncontrolled sugars. Once I got my HbA1c down to 6.2 with proper medication, my reports improved drastically and we succeeded.

Please don't worry too much. Yes, diabetes can have an impact, but it is usually reversible once the blood sugar levels are controlled with the right treatment and care.

I was reading some medical articles about family planning recently. Apparently, high blood sugar levels cause oxidative stress which can damage sperm DNA and lower the count. It is a very real thing that many couples don't realize.

I am no doctor so I won't give medical advice, but when my sugar was around 250, my doctor specifically told me it could harm sperm quality. After I focused on getting my levels back to normal, my energy and overall health felt much better.

Man, diabetes affects everything from your head to your toes, including your sperm quality! With a newborn keeping me awake all night, I can tell you that managing sugar is crucial if you want to get into this crazy parenting club.

Uncontrolled diabetes can definitely affect sperm motility. If your doctor allows, starting a regular routine of brisk walking or light strength training can help improve insulin sensitivity, which in turn helps hormone balance and reproductive health.

Yes, high sugar affects your nerves and blood flow, which impacts sperm health too. The solution is simple: cut down on heavy sweets, eat green veggies, and do a 40-minute walk daily. Keeping your body active makes a huge difference.
