Can diabetes affect heart?

My father has had diabetes for many years, and he recently developed some heart problems. My doctor also told me I'm pre-diabetic, so I'm very concerned. Does diabetes have a direct impact on heart health?

Yes, it actually can and this thought always keeps me up at night because my family has a history of both. High sugar levels can slowly damage blood vessels over time. But we can prevent this by keeping our sugar and cholesterol strictly under control.

It definitely does, which is why my doctor told me to cut down on the deep-fried samosas and heavy sweets. High sugar and fatty food are a bad combo for the heart. Now I try to enjoy baked snacks and limit my sweet cravings to weekends only.

Yes beta, high sugar weakens the heart over time. Along with your regular English medicines, you can have a little methi dana water in the morning to help manage sugar naturally. But never skip your main doctor's prescriptions.

Don't get scared by reading scary things online, okay? Yes, there is a connection between diabetes and heart health, but it only happens if sugars are neglected for years. Just focus on eating healthy, staying active, and you'll be perfectly fine.

Haan, bilkul affect karta hai. Sugar control na ho toh heart pe load padta hi hai na. Isliye kehte hain ki sirf meetha band mat karo, regular walks bhi zaroori hain heart ko healthy rakhne ke liye.

As someone managing Type 2 diabetes for 10 years, I can confirm that diabetic heart health is very closely linked. I keep a strict watch on my refined carbs intake and get an annual ECG done. Please take your sugar levels seriously.
