Can depression cause body pain?

Recently diagnosed with depression, alongside the low mood, I've noticed I'm feeling achy all over my body. It's not a specific injury, just a general soreness and fatigue. Is it possible for depression to manifest as generalized body pain?

Honestly, yes. When I was going through a really dark phase, my whole body used to ache and my gym workouts felt like torture. Moving your body daily, even just a simple 20-minute walk, and staying hydrated really helps release those feel-good hormones.

I can only share what happened to me, but my lower back and shoulders used to feel like lead when my mental health was at its worst. Once I started counseling and dealt with the mental stress, that physical tightness slowly went away. It is definitely worth discussing with a professional to see if yours is linked too.

Absolutely, my smartwatch actually showed a massive spike in my resting heart rate and poor recovery scores when I was feeling very low. The physical exhaustion is very real. Tracking your sleep and daily activity can help you see these patterns and show them to a doctor.

I used to wake up feeling like I ran a marathon, even after sleeping for 9 hours. It turned out to be somatic pain from my anxiety and depression. Try taking warm showers before bed and maybe do some light stretching, it really helped ease my physical soreness.

Listen to me, you are not imagining this pain. Depression can literally alter how your brain processes pain signals, making everything hurt more. Please don't suffer quietly, talk to a doctor who can guide you properly, okay?

Look, mind and body are not two separate things, everything is connected. Agar dimag me load chal raha hai toh body automatically respond karegi muscle tension and fatigue se. Zyada socho mat, start with a basic health checkup to rule out any vitamin deficiency first.

At 50, I thought my body aches were just old age creeping in, but my doc pointed out it was actually stress and burnout. Ab halat yeh hai ki dimag me thoda tension hota hai and my knees start creaking like old doors. Better to address the mental peace before your whole body goes on strike.

Haan na, completely agree with others. Mental stress physically locks up your muscles, specially shoulder and neck area. Mere saath bhi same hua tha, so I started doing light breathing and it helped a bit.
