Can dentists prescribe pain medication?

A really bad toothache has been bothering me, and my dentist appointment is still a couple of days away. I was wondering if dentists can prescribe some stronger pain medication to help me manage till then. The over-the-counter ones aren't really helping much.

Yes, absolutely! Otherwise, surviving a root canal would be a medieval torture session. They can legally write prescriptions for painkillers so you don't have to suffer once the anesthesia wears off.

Yes, dentists are fully licensed medical professionals who can prescribe pain relief or antibiotics if needed. When you go for your treatment, make sure to ask them clearly about the dosage and if you need to take it before or after food.

Dental pain is honestly the absolute worst, it makes you feel so helpless and miserable. Yes, they definitely prescribe proper painkillers to help you cope with the post-treatment soreness. Don't hesitate to tell them how much pain you are in so they can help.

Haan bilkul, dentist pain killer likh ke dete hain jab treatment chal raha ho. Bina prescription ke zyada heavy medicines lena thik nahi hai na, toh doctor se hi likhwa lena best rahega.

Yes, they can prescribe them. I was so scared of the pain after my wisdom tooth extraction, but the dentist gave me a proper prescription that kept me comfortable. Just make sure to tell them if you have any allergies to certain medicines beforehand.
