Can dehydration cause vomiting and diarrhea?

My daughter has been having both vomiting and diarrhea for a day now. She's also refusing to drink fluids, making me worry about dehydration. Can simply being dehydrated lead to these symptoms, or is it usually a sign of something else?

Usually, it is the vomiting and diarrhea that cause dehydration in the first place, but once you are dehydrated, your stomach muscles go crazy and keep the cycle going. It feels like my body is trying to reject its own existence. Keep sipping ORS unless you want an IV drip at the clinic.

My thyroid issues make my digestive system very sensitive, and dehydration can easily trigger stomach upset. If you are experiencing both vomiting and diarrhea, please don't just wait at home. Get your electrolytes tested and follow up with a doctor to get proper medication.

Haan na, stomach gets completely upset when there is no water left in the body. Actually, it becomes like a vicious cycle where you vomit more because of dehydration. Try drinking light khichdi water or buttermilk with a bit of salt, it really soothes the stomach.

Having vomiting and diarrhea is extremely risky for diabetes patients as it can cause sudden hypoglycemia or ketoacidosis. Be very careful with sweet sports drinks or heavy fruit juices. Sip sugar-free electrolyte water and contact your doctor immediately if your blood sugar starts fluctuating.

When you have loose motions and vomiting, you lose water very fast. Don't waste time, buy a packet of ORS from the local chemist, mix it in one liter of clean boiled water, and keep sipping it every 15 minutes. It is the cheapest and most effective way to stay out of the hospital.

The digestive fire (Jatharagni) gets highly disturbed when the body lacks water, leading to toxins being expelled through vomiting and loose stools. Rest completely, drink lukewarm water boiled with cumin seeds, and let your body heal naturally. If weakness grows, please seek medical help.

Your stomach basically goes on a complete strike when it doesn't get enough water! Vomiting and loose motions at the same time is like a double disaster. Just lie down, sip some coconut water, and pretend you are a plant being watered. You will get through this!

Haan, extreme dehydration can definitely make your stomach go haywire, but honestly, it is usually food poisoning that starts both. Just drinking plain water won't be enough na, you need electrolytes. If you feel very dizzy or can't hold water down, please go to the doctor immediately.
