Can dehydration cause chills without fever?

Last night, I felt so cold and shivery, but my temperature was totally normal. I realized I hadn't had much water all day. Is it possible for dehydration to cause chills like that without a fever?

I face this sometimes after a long run if I haven't hydrated well. Your body's internal thermostat just goes haywire without enough water, even if you don't have a fever. If your doctor allows, keep up with light evening walks but make sure you carry an ORS bottle along.

Honestly, yes, when your body lacks fluids it struggles to regulate temperature properly. I focus a lot on eating water-rich foods like cucumbers and melons, but sometimes just plain water is what your body is screaming for. Try sipping lukewarm water throughout the day and see if it makes a difference, but don't force any heavy diet changes right now.

Yes, it actually can. I have felt this too during hot summer months when I forgot to drink enough water. Just rest under a light blanket and sip some coconut water slowly, you will feel better.

In my sixty years, I have seen this happen many times during harvest season when workers don't drink enough water. People think chills only mean fever, but extreme dehydration does the exact same thing to your body. Drink some nimbu paani with a pinch of salt and sugar, and give your body some rest.

Yes, absolutely. Dehydration totally messes up your blood circulation, which easily causes random chills without any fever.

Please keep your mind calm and don't let anxiety take over, beta. Sometimes the body gets exhausted when we don't nurture it with enough water, leading to these sudden chills. Just rest well, drink some warm water, and have faith that your body will recover its balance soon.
