Can dandruff be transferred from one person to another?

My daughter recently started getting a lot of dandruff, and I'm worried about it spreading to other family members, especially my younger son. Can dandruff actually be transferred from one person to another, like through combs or towels?

From what I understand managing my PCOS-related scalp issues, normal dandruff isn't contagious. However, if it's a specific fungal infection, sharing combs might transfer it. It's always safer to keep your hairbrushes separate.

Actually yaar, dandruff is not contagious at all. Everyone has the Malassezia fungus on their scalp naturally, it's just that some people's skin reacts to it and causes flaking. So don't worry about catching it from your friends!

I totally get why you would worry about this, especially if someone in your family has heavy flakes and you are sharing pillows. It is scary to think you might catch it. Rest assured, normal dandruff is just your own scalp shedding skin, not a transmissible disease.

No, it cannot be transferred. Our scalp health is a reflection of our own body's balance and internal heat. Keep your mind calm, maintain simple hygiene, and don't let these small worries disturb your peace.

Don't worry, you cannot catch dandruff from anyone. If your own scalp gets dry or oily, try putting a little warm mustard oil mixed with lemon juice before washing. It has always worked wonders for my family.

In our family, we have lived together for decades and some had dandruff while others didn't. It never spread to anyone else. It is purely dependent on an individual's skin type, so do not stress about it.

No, it's not transmissible. Dandruff is usually caused by sweat, oil, and dead skin buildup on your own scalp. Staying active, drinking enough water, and washing your hair after a sweaty workout is the best way to manage it.

Hey, chill out! You absolutely cannot catch dandruff from sharing a pillow or hugging someone. It is just dry scalp or excess oil, completely personal to each body. Don't stress too much about it!

My dandruff and dry scalp issues got much worse due to my thyroid levels acting up, and it was entirely internal, not caught from anyone. If you are having persistent scalp issues along with hair fall, getting a routine thyroid checkup might help.

I once thought my scalp flaking was just normal dandruff caught from my roommate, so I ignored it. It turned out to be a severe fungal infection that required medical treatment. Please get any persistent scalp issue checked by a doctor early.

My grandmother always warned us not to use each other's combs, saying it would spread head lice or dandruff. While the doctor confirmed dandruff itself is not contagious, keeping separate hairbrushes is still a very healthy habit.

Hey there! Simple dandruff isn't infectious, so you can't catch it from someone else. But it is always a good hygiene practice to avoid sharing combs, towels, and hair accessories to prevent other scalp infections.
