Can dairy cause migraine headaches?

I suffer from terrible migraines and have been trying to identify my triggers. My doctor suggested keeping a food diary, and I noticed some of my worst attacks happen after consuming dairy. Could dairy actually be a trigger for migraine headaches?

Hey, I totally feel you! I used to get terrible migraines and noticed they happened more often after I had aged cheese or heavy milk tea. I switched to black tea and cut down on cheese, and it definitely helped reduce the frequency.

Certain dairy products can create blockages and excess toxins in the body, leading to headaches. Along with dietary changes, try practicing daily Anulom Vilom pranayama for 15 minutes. It has personally helped me manage my migraine triggers wonderfully.

My daughter tried self-treating her severe headaches by cutting out milk and cheese, but her condition only got worse and she ended up in the emergency room. Please do not assume it is just a food allergy; go see a neurologist for a proper checkup.

As a massive foodie, giving up cheese or rabri is my absolute nightmare! But honestly, some aged cheeses contain tyramine which is a known migraine trigger. Try keeping a food diary to see if dairy is actually your culprit.

If my daily filter coffee with milk is giving me migraines, I think I'd rather live with the headache! Jokes aside, yes, some people are sensitive to dairy proteins. Try skipping dairy for a week and see if your brain stops throbbing.

For mild headaches, drinking warm ginger water or applying a little ginger paste on the forehead helps a lot. Sometimes dairy, especially aged cheeses, can trigger migraines in some people. But if your headache is sudden and extremely severe, please consult a doctor.

Yes, dairy products like cheese and sour cream can trigger migraines for some. Take rest in a dark room and drink plenty of water. Hope you feel better soon.

I suffered from migraines for over twenty years during my working days. I realized late in life that heavy milk tea in the mornings was making it worse. Reducing my dairy intake brought me great relief. Do not worry, you will figure out your triggers too.

Managing my diabetes means I have to be very careful with what I eat, and headaches can sometimes happen due to blood sugar fluctuations too. If you are having dairy, make sure it is unsweetened and low-fat, and get your blood sugar checked just in case.

Oh my god, I get so anxious whenever I feel a migraine coming on, and I start wondering if it was the paneer I ate yesterday. It is so stressful trying to pinpoint triggers. You are not alone in this, try tracking your meals, it might give you some peace of mind.
