Can cystitis cause back pain?

I've been diagnosed with cystitis recently and along with the usual burning, I'm also experiencing quite a bit of lower back pain. I'm not sure if it's related or something else entirely. Can cystitis actually cause back pain?

Yes, bladder inflammation can definitely cause a dull ache in your lower back. Along with your doctor's medicine, drink plenty of warm water and barley water (jau ka pani) ghar pe. It really helps soothe the system and flush out the infection.

I have been having burning urination along with this terrible lower back pain since yesterday. I am so worried that the infection has reached my kidneys. Has anyone else felt this kind of back pain with cystitis?

Yes, pain in the lower back is common with bladder issues. But please make sure to get a proper urine culture and check your blood pressure too, as severe pain can sometimes spike your BP. Don't skip your doctor's appointment.

It absolutely can! Bladder infections love to send painful signals to your lower back. Just drink lots of water, take your meds, and you will be back to normal in no time! 🌸
