Can cup noodles cause cancer?

My younger brother eats cup noodles almost every other day, especially when studying late. My grandmother keeps scolding him, saying these instant noodles can cause cancer. Is there any scientific basis to her concerns about cup noodles and cancer?

Agar cup noodles se cancer hota toh aadhe se zyada engineering students ab tak gayab ho chuke hote! Obviously eating them 3 times a day is bad, but having them once in a while during midnight cravings won't kill you.

My son literally begs for cup noodles every weekend. I don't think they directly cause cancer, but they have too much sodium and preservatives which is definitely not healthy for kids. I try to make fresh home noodles with lots of vegetables instead.

I had a detailed discussion about processed foods with my oncologist at Apollo during my uncle's treatment. He said while occasional cup noodles won't cause cancer, the preservatives and plastic packaging used for hot liquids are best avoided. Better to ask your doctor for clear dietary guidelines.

They are filled with maida and chemical tastemakers which slow down your digestion. Whenever my kids crave noodles, I make suji or atta noodles at home with fresh spices. It is much safer and actually good for their stomach.

I don't know about cancer, but the sodium level in those cup noodles is extremely high, which is a nightmare for blood pressure. If you are already struggling with BP like me, please avoid them and get your checkups done regularly.

Since I got diagnosed with thyroid issues, I have completely cut out highly processed foods like cup noodles because they mess with your hormones and metabolism. It is always better to get regular blood tests done and discuss your diet with your doctor.

I totally get it, when we read these scary things online we start panicking about every small food item. Don't worry, eating it occasionally is totally fine, just try not to make it a daily habit because processed foods aren't great for general health.
