Can creatine give you kidney stones?

I've been pretty consistent with my creatine intake for almost a year now to help with my strength training. Lately, I've heard some chatter online about creatine being linked to kidney stone formation. Should I be concerned about creatine giving me kidney stones?

Beta, agar creatine le rahe ho toh paani peene mein bilkul kanjoosi mat karna. Humare gaon ke bache bhi gym jaate hain aur sab yahi kehte hain ki bina paani ke pathri ho sakti hai. Roz kam se kam 3-4 litre paani zaroor piyein.

I once ignored mild lower back pain while taking gym supplements, thinking it was just muscle soreness, and ended up with a painful kidney stone. Don't guess like I did. If you feel any sharp pain, get an ultrasound and checkup done immediately.

I'm planning to buy creatine but I'm super scared of kidney stones because they sound so painful. Has anyone actually gotten stones because of creatine, or is this just an online myth?

I read so many horror stories about kidney stones that I almost threw away my brother's gym supplements. But after reading actual studies, it seems safe if you drink loads of water. Try not to overthink it too much, but do stay careful with your hydration.

Bro, I've been on creatine for 3 years now. No kidney stones, nothing. Just drink water normally throughout the day and don't overcomplicate it. It's totally safe.

There is no strong scientific evidence directly linking creatine to kidney stones in healthy individuals. However, because it alters water retention, dehydration is a risk factor. Consulting your doctor and staying hydrated is the best approach.

Even though creatine is generally considered safe, everyone's body reacts differently. If you have any family history of kidney issues, it is highly recommended to get your kidney function checked before starting any new supplement.
