Can cranberry extract cause kidney stones?

Regularly, I take cranberry extract capsules for bladder health, but a relative recently told me that these extracts can increase the risk of kidney stones. I'm now a bit worried. Can taking cranberry extract supplements actually lead to the formation of kidney stones?

Don't just start popping cranberry extract pills because someone on Instagram recommended it for UTIs. These extracts are highly concentrated and can cause kidney stones. Go talk to a proper urologist first.

I use cranberry extract occasionally for urinary tract health, but I am very careful because it contains oxalates which can lead to stones. It is always safer to consult your doctor before taking daily doses.

Yes, cranberry extract contains high levels of oxalates, which can significantly increase your risk of developing kidney stones.

I'd rather stick to my daily lime juice or coconut water to keep things clean down there! These concentrated cranberry supplements are loaded with oxalates, which can definitely crystallize into stones if you aren't careful.

Honestly, dealing with a screaming baby at 3 AM is enough pain, I don't need kidney stones from my fancy health supplements. Yes, they can cause stones due to oxalates, so I threw my bottle out.

My sister was taking these extracts daily and her doctor actually made her stop because she had a family history of stones. If you do take them, make sure you are drinking crazy amounts of water.

Because cranberry extract is a concentrated source of oxalate, it can promote calcium oxalate stone formation. Please get your urine profile tested before continuing these supplements.
