Can cpr help heart attack?

My colleague recently had a heart attack at work, and thankfully someone knew CPR. It got me thinking about emergency situations. I wanted to know if performing CPR can effectively help someone who is actually having a heart attack.

Actually, CPR is used when someone's heart has stopped beating, which can happen during a severe heart attack. If they are awake and breathing, CPR isn't needed—just call an ambulance immediately.

CPR only comes into play if a heart attack leads to sudden cardiac arrest and the person collapses or stops breathing. For a regular heart attack where they are conscious, keep them calm and rush to the hospital.

Knowing CPR is a beautiful way to be prepared to save a life. It is crucial if someone loses consciousness and stops breathing. May everyone stay safe and healthy.

CPR is life-saving, but only if the person has collapsed and has no pulse. If they're just having chest pain and complaining, don't start pushing their chest—give them an aspirin and call the doc.

I recently survived a cardiac episode. If someone is experiencing chest pain, do not do CPR while they are awake. Get them to emergency care immediately; every second counts.

When my father had his checkup at Max, the cardiologist clearly explained that CPR is only for unresponsive patients. If there are heart attack symptoms, call 102 or emergency services instantly.

This is so scary to think about! But from what I've read, CPR is only for cardiac arrest (when the heart stops). If they are breathing, CPR can actually harm them, so we must be very careful.

At my age, my chest hurts just looking at my medical bills! But seriously, CPR is only for when the engine completely shuts down and they pass out. Otherwise, just drive them to the ER.

Just to clarify, don't start pumping someone's chest like in the movies if they are just complaining of chest tightness! CPR is strictly for when they pass out and stop breathing.

I was researching this yesterday. A heart attack is a plumbing issue (blocked artery), while cardiac arrest is an electrical issue (heart stops). CPR is only needed for the electrical issue.

Too tired to even think straight, but yes—only do CPR if they are totally unconscious and not breathing. Don't go practicing your chest presses on someone who is wide awake.

It is important to know the difference. If someone has chronic heart issues, keep your doctor's emergency number on speed dial. CPR is only for absolute emergencies when breathing stops.
