Can covid cause vomiting in adults?

My husband recently got Covid, and his main symptom is constant vomiting, with very little fever or cough. We thought vomiting was more common in children with Covid. Can adults also experience vomiting as a prominent symptom of Covid infection?

Yes, Covid isn't just about cough and cold; it can absolutely make you vomit. Keep sipping ORS water so you don't get dehydrated, and if it continues, go show a doctor.

Don't listen to random people telling you to drink herbal mixtures to stop vomiting. Covid can affect the gastrointestinal tract, but you need proper prescription anti-emetics from a doctor to treat it safely.

Yes, it can happen in both kids and adults. When my husband had Covid, he had severe vomiting; we kept him on a strict bland diet and gave him electrolyte water in small intervals, which helped him recover.

Yes, but be very careful. Severe vomiting can lead to rapid dehydration and electrolyte imbalance, which can be dangerous for adults. Please get evaluated by a medical professional if you cannot keep liquids down.

According to my physician, gastrointestinal symptoms like nausea and vomiting occur in up to 20% of Covid patients. He explained that the virus binds to ACE2 receptors in the gut, so getting a proper consultation is important to manage hydration.

Yes beta, gastrointestinal Covid is very common in adults. Drink rice water or coconut water slowly, eat simple non-spicy foods, and if the vomiting is severe, please visit your doctor for safe medication.

Oh, absolutely! Covid loves to keep us guessing by attacking our stomachs instead of our noses sometimes. Just hold on, stay near the washroom, and keep drinking electrolytes. It will pass!
