Can covid cause kidney problems?

About a year ago, I had Covid, and recently during a check-up, my doctor mentioned some mild irregularities in my kidney function tests. Nothing major, but still concerning. Can Covid infection actually lead to various kidney problems down the line?

Yes, but you don't need expensive scans first. Just book a basic Kidney Function Test (KFT) online, which costs around 300 to 400 rupees, to check your creatinine levels and consult a doctor with the reports.

Covid can indeed strain the kidneys due to inflammation. While you follow your doctor's medical advice, make sure to drink adequate water, limit excess salt, and avoid self-medicating with heavy painkillers which harm the kidneys.

I can only speak from what happened to my father. He had mild Covid, but a month later his feet started swelling, and blood tests showed his kidney markers were slightly off. His doctor managed it with proper medication.

Yes, it is possible because the virus can cause severe dehydration and inflammation. Please keep track of your daily urine output and consult a physician.

My son had some minor kidney irritation post-infection. The pediatrician was very reassuring, advised us to keep him well-hydrated, and monitored his urine tests closely until he was completely back to normal.

Actually, my uncle had to be hospitalized because of kidney issues after recovering from severe Covid. The virus can definitely mess with your organs, so don't ignore symptoms like decreased urination or swollen ankles.

We must trust our body's power to heal itself with proper medical care. Covid can sometimes weaken the kidneys temporarily, but with a peaceful mind, light diet, and regular guidance from your doctor, recovery is assured.

Honestly, staying up all night reading about Covid kidney damage is not doing my health any favors. It can happen in severe cases, but staying hydrated and sleeping is probably better than overthinking at 3 AM.

It can be worrying to think about kidney issues, but please don't lose hope. Drink enough water, take plenty of rest, and let a qualified doctor guide you through a routine checkup.

Yes child, high fever and strong drugs can heat up the body and affect kidney health. Along with the doctor's medicine, drink coconut water and barley water as they are gentle and cooling for the system.
