Can covid cause kidney failure?

My brother had a very serious case of Covid last year, and his kidney function has not been the same since. He is now on dialysis. We are all quite worried and wondering if the Covid infection itself could have been the direct cause of his kidneys failing.

The stress of the virus on internal organs can sometimes affect kidney function, especially in severe cases. Keep your mind calm with gentle deep breathing, drink pure water, and always follow the doctor's path.

Yes, acute kidney injury can happen during severe Covid infections due to inflammation or dehydration. You must consult a nephrologist at a reputed hospital immediately to check creatinine levels.

My brother had severe Covid complications and his kidney function dropped dangerously low. It is a very serious risk if you have pre-existing diabetes or high blood pressure, so please get monitored regularly by a professional.

I read that severe Covid can damage kidney filters and it's making me so worried. Has anyone here had high creatinine levels after recovering from Covid? Did it go back to normal?

In severe infections, kidneys can face a lot of strain. Getting a simple, low-cost urine routine test and serum creatinine test done at any local lab can easily show if your kidneys are working fine.

My father went through acute kidney strain during his hospital stay with Covid. With timely hydration therapy and proper monitoring of fluid intake under his doctor's guidance, his kidneys recovered completely within three months.

Clinical evidence shows that the SARS-CoV-2 virus can target kidney cells, leading to acute kidney injury in severe hospitalized cases. Given the complexity, monitoring kidney function parameters under medical supervision is the only right approach.
