Can covid cause fever blisters?

Since my recent Covid recovery, I've been getting these small, painful fever blisters around my lips more frequently than before. I used to get them sometimes, but now it's happening a lot. Is there a connection between having Covid and getting these blisters more often?

Yes, Covid lowers your body immunity, which allows the dormant herpes simplex virus to flare up as fever blisters. Applying a soothing antiviral ointment or simple coconut oil can ease the burning, but consult a local doctor if they spread.

When immunity goes down during viral infections, these cold sores often appear. I usually put a little honey or aloe vera gel on them to soothe the pain, but if they don't heal in a week, you should definitely show a doctor.

Absolutely, Covid loves to leave us with annoying little parting gifts like fever blisters! It's just your immune system waving a white flag temporarily. Keep yourself hydrated and let them heal, no need to panic.

I freaked out completely when I got painful blisters around my mouth right after recovering from Covid. But my doctor assured me it's just a normal reaction to low immunity post-fever. They dried up on their own in 10 days.

It can happen because our immune systems get so compromised during viral infections. Since I have PCOS, I'm always cautious about hormonal triggers and skin flares. It's best to let a dermatologist evaluate it to prescribe the right cream.
