Can coughing too much cause vomiting?

My son has been coughing non-stop for two nights, especially after lying down. Today morning, after a long coughing fit, he actually vomited his breakfast. Is it possible that just coughing too much can make someone throw up?

Yes, it happens because of the strong gag reflex trigger during severe coughing. But please consult a specialist at a proper clinic or hospital to find out if it's bronchitis or something else needing prescription meds.

Honestly, coughing so hard that you throw up at 3 AM is my current life status. The pressure on the stomach is real when you can't stop coughing. Need to sleep but this throat tickle won't let me.

Haan yaar, severe cough can totally trigger vomiting, especially if you just ate. It's called post-tussive emesis. Thoda light food khao and check with a doc if it continues, okay na?

Beta, yes, heavy coughing puts too much pressure on the stomach and triggers the throat reflex. Drink warm water in small sips throughout the day and eat soft, non-spicy meals so your stomach stays settled.

It definitely can happen due to abdominal pressure, but let's not self-diagnose. I have learned to always check with my physician when symptoms get this intense, just to rule out any underlying infections.
