Can constipation give you a fever?

Pichle kuch dino se pet saaf nahi ho raha hai, aur mujhe thoda garmi si lag rahi hai, jaise bukhar aane wala ho. Kya kabz ki wajah se body ka temperature badh sakta hai?

I totally get it, running a fever when your stomach is already upset is so stressful and exhausting. While simple constipation doesn't usually cause a fever, a fever can mean there is an infection or inflammation in the gut. Please take rest and get a doctor to check you soon.

A fever usually means an infection, so don't waste money on random constipation syrups hoping the fever will go away. It is better to visit a general physician first. They can tell you exactly which blood tests are needed so you don't spend extra.

Please do not ignore a fever if you are constipated. I once ignored these two symptoms thinking it was just bad food, but it turned out to be a severe intestinal infection that required hospitalization. Go see a doctor immediately to be safe.

Honestly, I didn't know this could happen, but last semester I had a crazy stomach infection with constipation and ran a high fever. It was awful. Definitely don't wait around in your hostel room, go to the campus clinic.

I just recovered from this combo last week. It turned out to be a stomach bug that caused both the constipation and the moderate fever. Once the doctor prescribed the right antibiotics and fluids, both issues cleared up in three days.

According to most medical trackers, constipation itself doesn't cause a fever. A fever is usually your body's immune response to an infection, like gastroenteritis or a urinary tract infection. It is best to monitor your temperature and consult a doctor.
