Can constipation cause left side pain?

Aksar mujhe constipation rehta hai, aur jab bhi aisa hota hai, mere left side pet mein bahut dard hota hai. Kya ye constipation ki wajah se hi hai, ya kuch aur check karana chahiye?

Yes, absolutely! The descending colon is on the left side, so when it is packed like a local train, it really hurts. Clean the tracks with some fiber and water, and that left-side drama should settle down.

In my seventy years, I have seen that a full bowel almost always causes discomfort on the lower left side of the abdomen. Don't worry too much, but don't ignore it either. Drink warm water and let things clear naturally.

As someone who has struggled with chronic constipation, I can tell you that left-sided abdominal pain is very common because that is where the stool collects before passing. Try drinking warm water and walking. If the pain is sharp and constant, consult a doctor.

I was actually reading an article about gut anatomy, and it says the sigmoid colon is on the lower left side, which is why constipation pain is so common there. It's crazy how much anatomy explains our daily aches!

The left side pain is often due to the downward movement of waste getting blocked. Gentle twisting yoga poses like Vakrasana can help stimulate the colon and release trapped gas. Please be gentle on your body.

Yes, the left side of your colon gets very congested when you are constipated. I suggest adding more fiber-rich vegetables like sponge gourd (torai) and soft cooked oats to your meals. Avoid heavy paneer and maida for a few days to ease the pressure.
