Can constipation cause belly pain?

Thode dino se main constipated hoon, aur mere pet mein bhi dard ho raha hai. Kya ye dono cheezein connected ho sakti hain, ya phir kuch aur hai?

Yes, absolutely. My HealthifyMe app always flags low fiber and water intake when I get this kind of ache. Try tracking your water intake for a few days, keeping it above 3 liters helps a lot.

Yes, it causes cramping because your colon is working extra hard to move things. Drink plenty of warm water and try some basic isabgol if you haven't. Just don't ignore it if the pain gets severe or you get a fever.

Yes, it can cause quite a bit of discomfort. Take rest, drink some warm water, and try not to stress too much. Hope you feel better very soon.

Consult a gastroenterologist

It definitely can, but honestly, it is best to get a clear diagnosis. I always consult the gastro department at Manipal Hospital instead of guessing. Ask your doctor clearly if it is just gas or something else.

Please do not ignore it. I thought my severe stomach pain was just mild constipation and kept taking home remedies, but it turned out to be a major infection that landed me in the ER. Go get a doctor to check it properly.

Beta, belly pain is very common with constipation because of all the trapped gas and pressure. Try having some warm milk with a spoon of ghee at night, it softens everything. If the pain is very sharp, please see a doctor.

I was actually reading about this yesterday on a medical blog because I was facing the same thing. Apparently, the backed-up stool stretches the bowel walls, which triggers those crampy nerves. Quite scary how much it can hurt!
