Can constipation cause back pain sciatica?

I've been suffering from sciatica for quite some time, and lately, my constipation issues have also worsened. Can constipation aggravate or even be a trigger for sciatica-like back pain?

Yes, it can. When you are severely constipated, the heavy, packed stool in the rectum can directly press against the sciatic nerve, triggering that radiating pain down your leg. Getting your bowel movements regular using natural laxatives will help relieve the nerve pressure.

Please don't just ignore this thinking it's simple gas or constipation. I ignored my radiating back pain for months, blaming my digestion, only to find out I had a herniated disc. Please go see an orthopedic doctor or neurologist to get a proper diagnosis before it gets worse.

Welcome to middle age, where not pooping can actually make your leg go numb! Yes, a full bowel can pinch that sciatic nerve. It's a hilarious chain reaction, but highly painful. Do yourself a favor, eat some papaya, and see a doctor if the leg pain doesn't stop.

I actually went through this recently! I had this shooting pain down my right leg and realized it only flared up when I was badly constipated. My doc explained the pelvic pressure connection. Drinking lots of warm water and doing gentle stretches really helped me.

Yes, a full colon can compress the sciatic nerve and cause shooting leg pain. Relieving the constipation usually resolves the nerve pressure.

I literally just got over this last week. The nerve pain in my lower back was driving me crazy, and my physiotherapist told me my severe constipation was worsening the sciatic nerve compression. Once my bowels cleared up with a high-fiber diet, the shooting leg pain stopped completely.

An MRI for sciatica can easily cost you 5,000 rupees. Before going for expensive nerve tests, spend 100 rupees on a good fiber supplement or laxative from the chemist to see if clearing your bowels reduces the back pressure. If not, then plan for the specialist doctor.

Arre, bilkul ho sakta hai. Stool block hone se pelvic area mein pressure banta hai, jo seedha sciatica nerve ko touch karta hai. Isabgol lijiye pet saaf karne ke liye, aur agar dard phir bhi rahe toh bina deri ke doctor ke paas jao.
