Can constipation cause back pain near kidneys?

When I'm severely constipated, I sometimes feel a dull, aching pain in my back, specifically around the kidney area. Is it actually possible for constipation to cause pain near the kidneys?

At my age, every part of the back hurts for some reason or another! But yes, heavy constipation can cause referred pain that feels like it is near the kidneys. Still, don't just blame the poop; get a doctor to check those kidneys so you can sleep peacefully.

Please do not assume back pain near your kidneys is just constipation based on what people say online. It could be a kidney stone or an infection, which are serious. You must consult a doctor and get an ultrasound or urine test done to be absolutely sure.

Pain near the kidney area should never be self-diagnosed. While a full bowel can put pressure on surrounding areas, kidney issues can escalate quickly. Please go see a doctor immediately to rule out any kidney stones or infections.

Don't panic, but let's be careful. Sometimes severe bloating and constipation can cause a dull ache that radiates to your mid-back near the kidneys. Drink lots of water today, but if the pain is sharp or you have a fever, we need to go see a doctor right away.

Well, our insides are packed tighter than a Mumbai local train, so when the bowel is full, it starts pushing on everything nearby, including your back! Try clearing the system first, but if your kidneys are still protesting, definitely visit the doc.

Yes, constipation can cause referred muscle tension in the mid-back region. If your doctor allows, doing some gentle walking or very light stretching can help move things along and relieve that kidney-area pressure. Stay active and hydrated.

I was actually researching this exact same thing last week because I had mid-back pain. Apparently, the descending colon is very close to that area, so severe bloating can mimic kidney-area pain. It's so confusing, but definitely worth getting checked by a GP.

Haan ji, jab pet saaf nahi hota toh peeth ke peeche pichli taraf bohot dard hota hai. Aap khoob saara gunguna pani pijiye aur thoda aaram kariye. Par agar dard bohot tez ho, toh doctor babu ko zaroor dikha lena.
