My little girl has conjunctivitis, and this morning, she vomited her breakfast. Can conjunctivitis sometimes cause vomiting, or should I be concerned about something else?

Honestly, dealing with painful red eyes is tiring enough, but vomiting too? That's just unfair. Conjunctivitis itself doesn't cause vomiting, but maybe the stress or some strong medicine you took on an empty stomach is doing it. Go see a doctor and get some sleep!
I completely panicked when my son threw up while having pink eye! But the doctor reassured me that he had just swallowed some post-nasal drip from the viral cold that caused the pink eye. It is very normal with viral infections, so don't worry too much.
My doctor explained that typical conjunctivitis does not cause vomiting. However, if you have severe eye pain, vision changes, and vomiting, it could be a sign of acute glaucoma or a systemic viral illness. Please get an eye specialist to evaluate this immediately.
I've never heard of simple conjunctivitis causing vomiting. As someone managing high blood pressure, I always keep an eye on unusual combinations of symptoms. If you have a headache, vomiting, and eye pain, please get your blood pressure and eyes checked by a doctor right away.
It is so overwhelming when you are already dealing with irritated eyes and then you start feeling nauseous and vomiting. I felt so weak and helpless when it happened to me. Please don't suffer through it alone, reach out to a doctor to get some relief.
