Can colic cause vomiting?

My 3-month-old baby has been experiencing severe colic, crying for hours, and sometimes she also throws up her feed after a particularly bad crying spell. My pediatrician says it's just colic. Can colic itself cause vomiting, or should I be worried about something else?

Actually, I was just reading about baby health and colic some time back. It seems colic is mostly just intense crying and gas, but it shouldn't cause real vomiting. Maybe some mild spit-up is normal, but actual vomiting might mean something else entirely.

My son had terrible colic for three months, and it was so exhausting. He would spit up a little milk when crying heavily, but never actual, forceful vomiting. If your little one is throwing up proper food or milk, it is better to take them to the pediatrician to check for reflux or infections.

I agree with others here. Normal colic is just crying and gas pain, but projectile vomiting is definitely not a part of it.

Honestly, my cousin's baby had colic and used to cry for hours, but she never vomited like that. Sounds like it could be something else causing the upset tummy. Pls check with a doctor to be on the safe side, baby issues are too tricky to guess.

Don't waste time trying to figure this out on internet forums. Colic is generally just abdominal pain, not vomiting. If the child is throwing up, book a quick online consultation with your pediatrician today. It's the safest and fastest way.

Hello, I am new to this group and still learning about infant care. Is it possible that the baby is vomiting because of the milk brand or formula instead of colic? I would love to know if changing the diet helps in these situations.

Wait, really? My niece has been crying a lot and threw up twice yesterday, and we all thought it was just colic. Now I am getting super worried. Has anyone else's baby vomited during colic, or should we rush to the clinic immediately?

For normal gas or colic pain, a little hing paste around the baby's belly button works wonders. But listen, if the baby is actually vomiting and looking dull, don't try any home remedies. Take the baby to the doctor immediately to avoid dehydration.
