Can cold weather cause fever blisters?

Every winter, without fail, I get these painful fever blisters around my lips. I've always linked it to the extreme cold. Is it true that cold weather can cause fever blisters, or is there another reason for this recurrence?

At this age, my immunity seems to drop the moment the temperature does, and these fever blisters appear to remind me of winter! The dry cold weather definitely triggers them if you carry the virus. Better to stay warm and seek a doctor's advice if they don't heal.

Yeah totally, cold winter winds make my lips super dry and cracked, and then boom, a painful fever blister pops up out of nowhere. It's so annoying and looks so bad when going to college. Applying a good lip balm keeps them at bay, but if they hurt too much, you might need a proper gel from the doc.

I used to panic so much thinking fever blisters were a sign of some major illness when they popped up every winter. But my doctor explained it's just a very common virus that gets triggered by cold weather and dry lips. They usually clear up on their own, so try not to stress too much.

Cold weather is a classic trigger for fever blisters because the harsh wind cracks your lips and lowers local immunity, allowing the herpes simplex virus to reactivate. Keep your lips shielded with an SPF lip balm. If you get frequent outbreaks, please consult a dermatologist for antiviral treatment.

Fever blisters are just a small sign that our body is feeling a bit tired or cold. Keep your spirit positive, drink warm water, and let your body heal naturally in its own time. Please take care and consult a doctor if the discomfort increases.

Cold weather dry air can definitely trigger fever blisters, especially if your immune system is a bit down. I find that keeping up with light daily walks in the sun helps keep my immunity active during winter, though make sure your doctor allows outdoor exercise if you are feeling unwell. Do check with a doctor if the blisters are painful.
