Can cigarettes cause a stroke?

I've been smoking for over twenty years now, and my doctor keeps telling me to quit for my heart. I heard that smoking can also cause a stroke. Is this true, and how high is the risk?

Yes it absolutely can, but don't just rely on online posts for such serious issues. Smoking thickens blood and causes clots. You must get a proper cardiovascular checkup done by a specialist.

Arre, at our age, even climbing stairs feels like a task and smoking is like inviting trouble on a red carpet. It clogs up the brain pipes, simple science. Time to leave the puffing behind before the body leaves us.

I totally get it, smoking is a tough habit to break and thinking about these scary risks causes a lot of anxiety. But the link between smoking and stroke is very real due to blood clots. Please consider taking help to quit.

As someone managing high BP for ten years, I can tell you smoking is a huge multiplier for stroke risk. You need to monitor your pressure regularly and change your lifestyle immediately. Regular medical checkups are a must.

I am up at 4 AM worrying about my health too, and honestly, cigarettes are the biggest culprit for strokes. It narrows your brain's blood vessels. We really need to sleep more and smoke less, or actually not smoke at all.

I ignored my heavy smoking and minor dizzy spells years ago until I had a major health scare. Please do not make the same mistake I did. Go to a cardiologist and get yourself checked up immediately.
