Can cholesterol cause a heart attack?

My recent lab reports showed my cholesterol is a bit high. My dad also had heart issues in his 50s, so I'm a bit worried. Just wanted to understand, can having high cholesterol directly lead to a heart attack?

Yes, high cholesterol builds up plaque in the arteries, which can eventually block blood flow and trigger a heart attack. However, it is just one of many risk factors like BP and genetics. It is always best to consult a cardiologist to evaluate your overall risk profile and get a proper prevention plan.

Oh god, this is my biggest fear! Every time my report shows high LDL, I literally get panic attacks thinking something will happen to my heart. Honestly, please don't stress too much but do get it checked by a doc so they can guide you on how to bring it down safely. Taking action early really helps calm the mind.

Arre boss, if cholesterol was a direct ticket to a heart attack, half of Delhi's butter-chicken loving population would be in trouble! Jokes apart, yes it can cause serious blockages if ignored for years. Just cut down on the deep-fried stuff and keep your doctor in the loop to be on the safer side.

Yes dear, over time, bad cholesterol can narrow your blood vessels and lead to a heart attack. I have seen many people in our community manage this successfully just by catching it early. A simple lipid profile test and a quick chat with your family doctor will help you take the right steps.

Haan na, cholesterol is actually very risky for the heart if we ignore it for a long time. Mere mama ji also had this issue and doctor warned him just in time. Thoda diet control and regular walking is very important, rest your doctor will guide you better.
