Can cholelithiasis cause elevated liver enzymes?

My doctor told me I have cholelithiasis, which are gallstones. He mentioned that it might be affecting my liver. Can cholelithiasis lead to elevated liver enzymes?

Bro, my dad's reports just showed this. His liver enzymes went up and the doc said it's because of his gallstones blocking the bile flow. They are planning a checkup to see if it needs surgery or just meds.

Yes, gallstones (cholelithiasis) can block the bile duct and cause liver enzymes to spike. My neighbor had this and he had to get a simple ultrasound done. Don't worry too much, just consult a gastroenterologist to see if you need a scan.

Those little gallstones can act like tiny traffic police blocking the road, which makes the liver complain and raise its enzyme levels! It sounds scary but is super common. Just get a doctor to clear up the traffic jam and you'll be fine.

Yes, gallstones blocking the bile duct frequently cause this. A liver function test and an ultrasound are usually the first steps your doctor will suggest.

I know how terrifying it is to look at elevated numbers on a lab report, it literally gave me sleepless nights. But when my doctor explained it was just a small gallstone causing temporary blockage, I felt so much better. Definitely show it to your doctor, they will guide you.

Oh my God, I am dealing with the exact same thing right now and I've been googling all night. My enzymes are elevated and they found tiny stones in my gallbladder. I'm so scared of surgery, but everyone says it's very safe if done on time. I hope we both get well soon!

Yes, it definitely can. If a stone slips and blocks the common bile duct, your liver enzymes will shoot up. This is not something to ignore, so go and show your reports to a physician as soon as possible.
