I'm looking into different pain management options for my chronic neck pain. I'm wondering about chiropractors. Can chiropractors prescribe actual pain medication or are they limited to adjustments?

No, they cannot prescribe medications as they are not medical doctors (MDs). As a diabetic, I am very careful about any pills because they can affect my kidneys and blood sugar. Always get your pain meds prescribed by a proper physician.

I was actually researching this online because I needed some relief for my shoulder pain. In India, only registered medical practitioners with an MBBS or BDS can prescribe modern medicines, so chiropractors cannot legally give you pain pills.
