Can changing formula cause vomiting?

We recently switched our baby's formula because of reflux issues, and now she's been spitting up and even vomiting more than usual. I'm really concerned it's not suiting her. Is it common for changing a baby's formula to cause vomiting?

Yes, absolutely. A baby's tiny stomach is highly sensitive, and any sudden change in formula brand or type can easily cause spitting up or vomiting. It is always best to transition very slowly over a week by mixing the old and new formula, but do consult your pediatrician first to be safe.

It definitely can, as different formulas have different protein compositions and fats which might not suit the baby's digestion. Just like we adults face issues when we suddenly change our diet, babies are even more sensitive. Please get a pediatrician's advice before trying another brand.

Yes, changing formula can definitely cause vomiting in babies. Their digestive systems take time to adjust to new ingredients.

Yes, changing baby milk can upset their system, just like sudden routine changes affect our health and blood pressure. Always make these changes after a proper checkup with the child's doctor. Don't experiment on your own, a pediatrician will guide you on the safest way.

Oh, I totally get it, seeing your baby vomit after a feed is so terrifying and stressful. It is actually quite common for babies to react this way when formula is changed suddenly. Please don't worry, but do check with your pediatrician to make sure the baby is staying hydrated.
