Can cervical pain cause nausea?

I've been having really bad neck and upper back pain lately, which sometimes gives me headaches. Occasionally, I also feel a bit nauseous with it. Is it possible for cervical (neck) pain to be severe enough to cause nausea?

Don't just assume your nausea is because of neck pain because of what people say on the internet. While severe pain can sometimes make you feel sick, nausea can also point to other neurological or gastric issues. Go to a doctor and get your neck properly checked.

Oh absolutely, it is a horrible combination! My neck is so stiff from late-night screen time that sometimes when I wake up, the room spins and I feel like throwing up my breakfast. Honestly, a good cervical pillow is the only thing keeping me alive right now.

Yes, it can. My grandmother always suggested applying warm sesame oil to the neck, which does give temporary relief, but my doctor explained that nerve compression in the neck can directly trigger vertigo and nausea. It's best to consult a physiotherapist for proper neck exercises.

Yes, severe cervical pain or neck stiffness can definitely trigger dizziness and nausea. It helps to lie down on a flat surface without a thick pillow to relieve the pressure.

Hey, don't stress too much, this is actually very common! When the neck nerves get pinched, it can easily make you feel dizzy and nauseous. Try to avoid bending your neck to look at your phone, apply some warm gel, and rest. You'll feel better soon!
