Can cephalexin cause vomiting?

My daughter started taking Cephalexin for an ear infection, and she's been a bit queasy and even vomited once. I'm trying to figure out if it's the medication or something else. Is vomiting a common side effect of Cephalexin?

Dekho, antibiotics stomach upset karte hi hain, isme koi badi baat nahi hai. Cephalexin heavy tablet hoti hai toh khali pet mat lena bilkul. Agar bahut zyada ulti ho rahi hai toh zid mat karo, doctor se baat karke dawai change karwa lo.

Yes, antibiotics like cephalexin can be quite harsh on the stomach and cause nausea or vomiting. When my gut gets sensitive due to meds, I find it helps to eat something light before taking the pill, but definitely check with your doctor if you can't keep any food down.

Haan beta, humare ghar mein bhi jab kisi ne yeh goli khai thi toh unka mann kharab ho gaya tha aur ulti jaisa laga tha. Garam pani aur thoda dahi chawal kha lo toh pet thanda rahega. Lekin agar zyada pareshani ho toh daktar babu ko dikha lena.

This is very common with strong antibiotics. To prevent vomiting, never take cephalexin on an empty stomach; always have a proper meal first. You can also ask your doctor to prescribe a simple antacid or anti-vomiting tablet to take half an hour before the antibiotic.

Oh, I completely panicked when I threw up after my first dose of cephalexin last year! I thought I was having a major allergic reaction. But my doctor reassured me that it's just a common side effect on an empty stomach. Taking it with a meal solved it for me.
