Can cavities repair themselves?

I'm trying my best with oral hygiene now that I've noticed a small spot on my molar. I've heard some conflicting information online. Can cavities repair themselves, especially if they are small and I take good care of my teeth?

Look, let's speak frankly. If you already have a physical hole in your tooth, it is not going to repair itself. No magic paste or home remedy can grow back decayed enamel. Go to a dentist and get it filled before it becomes a bigger headache.

In my experience, only very early demineralization—like tiny white spots—can be reversed with fluoride and strict hygiene. Once it turns into an actual cavity, self-repair is impossible. My advice is to get a simple filling done early to avoid expensive root canals later.

I used to hope my daughter's minor cavities would repair themselves if we brushed twice a day, but they only grew larger. The dentist explained that once decay starts, it must be professionally cleaned and filled. It is much safer to address it early for the child's comfort.

I agree with others here, cavities don't repair themselves. It is highly recommended to see a dentist and get a proper filling to prevent the decay from spreading deeper.

I completely understand hoping they can self-repair, but unfortunately once a cavity forms, only a dentist can fix it.

I tried various diet modifications, cutting out all sugars, and eating calcium-rich foods to see if my enamel would repair itself. While a clean diet helps prevent new decay, it cannot heal an active cavity. Please consult a dentist to get it filled properly.

Let's be practical, a tooth cannot regrow like skin does. If you have a cavity, a simple composite filling at a local dental clinic is the best and most affordable solution. Don't delay it and make the treatment more complicated.
