Can cavities cause canker sores?

I frequently get canker sores, and I also have a few cavities that haven't been treated yet. I was wondering if there's any connection between the two. Can cavities cause canker sores?

I really feel your pain because having dental issues alongside painful mouth sores is absolute torture. When my cavity was sharp, it kept scratching the inside of my cheek and caused the worst sores. I was so miserable, but getting the tooth fixed changed everything.

I just recovered from this last week. My broken tooth had a sharp cavity that caused a nasty sore right next to it. Once the dentist filled the cavity, the sore healed up in just three days.

I totally get it, canker sores make eating and talking so difficult and frustrating. A sharp cavity can definitely irritate the soft skin inside your mouth and trigger these sores. Try using a soothing mouth gel and see your dentist soon.

Yes, if the cavity has left a sharp edge on your tooth, it can continuously rub against your tongue or cheek, creating painful sores. Don't waste time waiting for it to heal; just get a dentist to smooth it out or fill it.

It's like your mouth is attacking itself! A sharp tooth cavity is basically a tiny saw cutting up your cheek, which leads to these annoying sores. Get that little saw filled up, and your cheeks will thank you!
