Can cancer cause nausea and vomiting?

For the past few weeks, I've been suffering from frequent nausea and occasional vomiting, and it's really affecting my daily life. I'm trying to understand all possible causes. Could something as serious as cancer be responsible for these symptoms?

Yes, both cancer and its treatments can cause severe nausea, making it very hard to eat anything. In my family, we found that sipping light ginger tea or eating very bland, small vegetarian meals helps soothe the stomach. Please make sure they stay hydrated with simple coconut water.

Nausea is a very common issue, and doctors usually prescribe very effective, low-cost antiemetic tablets for it. If someone is undergoing chemo, their doctor will already have specific medicines for this. Don't let them suffer, just ask their treating physician for the right prescription.

For mild nausea, chewing on a piece of ginger or sniffing fresh lemon can give quick relief. However, if the vomiting is continuous and you cannot keep any liquids down, please do not rely on home remedies. Go see a doctor immediately to avoid severe dehydration.

Watching a loved one suffer from constant nausea and vomiting is incredibly heartbreaking and draining. It is a very common side effect of chemotherapy, and it is totally valid to feel overwhelmed by it. Please speak to their medical team, as they can adjust the medications to help them feel much better.

Please do not ignore persistent vomiting by thinking it's just food poisoning or acidity. I ignored my father's continuous nausea for weeks, which delayed his actual diagnosis. If it lasts for more than a few days, please get a proper medical checkup done without any delay.

Having managed thyroid issues for years, I know how easily hormone changes can mess with your stomach. Since nausea can stem from many systemic issues or cancer treatments, keeping up with regular blood work and doctor visits is essential. Don't skip your follow-up appointments.

I didn't realize that nausea could be a direct symptom of the illness itself, or is it mostly just from the chemotherapy drugs? If anyone has tips on how to manage this gently at home, please do share.

While severe nausea makes you want to stay in bed, a very gentle short walk in fresh air can sometimes help clear the mind, provided the doctor allows it. Keeping the body slightly active helps with digestion. Just make sure not to push yourself and rest when needed.
