Can cancer cause liver enzymes to be high?

My recent blood test showed that my liver enzymes are higher than normal. I'm a bit concerned about what this could mean. Can certain types of cancer actually cause liver enzymes to become elevated?

Yes, liver or other cancers can definitely elevate liver enzymes, but simple issues like fatty liver or common medications can also cause it.

High liver enzymes are very common in India because of fatty liver or taking too many painkillers. Before jumping to scary conclusions, get a simple Liver Function Test (LFT) and an ultrasound done. It is very affordable and will give you a clear picture.

In the clinic, we see high SGOT and SGPT levels all the time. While liver metastasis or primary liver tumors do cause high enzymes, it's far more commonly due to alcohol, fatty liver, or even a recent viral fever. Show your reports to a doctor for a proper evaluation.

Our liver is a very sensitive organ that reacts to stress, toxins, and poor diet. While major illnesses can elevate these enzymes, practicing gentle yoga like Kapalbhati and eating a clean, plant-based diet helps support liver health. Do consult your physician for proper guidance.

Beta, don't worry too much. In our times, we used to drink fresh amla juice or warm water with turmeric to soothe the liver, but you must not ignore high enzyme levels. Please get a proper doctor's opinion to see what is causing the strain on your liver.

I totally get it, seeing abnormal numbers on your blood report can make you feel extremely anxious and fear the worst. Try to take a slow breath. Most of the time, slightly high liver enzymes are easily manageable with minor diet changes and medication prescribed by a doctor.
