Can cancer be transmitted by blood?

My brother needs a blood transfusion, and I'm thinking of donating. However, I got a bit worried when I heard about someone having cancer. Can cancer actually be transmitted from one person to another through blood?

I completely understand why you are asking this, health doubts like this can make you lose sleep. Please rest assured that you cannot catch cancer by touching someone or through normal blood contact like that. It is not an infectious disease, so please try not to stress yourself out.

Bro, chill, cancer doesn't spread like a cold or flu. My cousin had leukemia and we used to stay together all the time, nothing happens. It's not contagious at all, even through blood contact, so u don't have to worry about this.

Aisa bilkul nahi hota hai beta. Cancer koi chhoot ki bimari nahi hai jo khun se ek dusre ko ho jaye. Aap bilkul darr mat, aur apne dimaag se ye chinta nikal do. Bhagwan sab thik rakhenge.

From what I have read while managing my own health issues, cancer isn't transmitted through casual blood contact or sharing things. However, blood banks have extremely strict rules and they never take blood from anyone with a history of cancer just to be absolutely safe. It is always good to read verified medical articles for peace of mind.

Having recently finished my chemotherapy, I can tell you this for sure. Cancer is a cellular mutation, not a virus or bacteria that can travel and infect someone else through blood transfusion or cuts. None of my family members or caretakers were ever at risk, so please don't worry.
