Can caffeine help a migraine?

Suffering from really bad migraines sometimes, I've noticed that a strong cup of coffee can sometimes lessen the pain and make it more bearable. Is caffeine actually known to help with migraine headaches, or is it just a temporary effect?

Honestly, with my sleep schedule, coffee is the only thing keeping my brain inside my skull. For my normal headaches, a strong cup of black coffee actually works wonders. But if it is a full-blown migraine, sometimes coffee makes it worse, so it is a gamble!

I used to panic thinking coffee would trigger my headaches, but then I realized a little caffeine actually constricts blood vessels and helps relieve the pressure. It is totally normal to use a cup of tea to soothe a mild headache, so don't worry.

I have just started getting these bad headaches recently and I am a bit scared. Does coffee really help, or does it make the headache worse once the effect wears off? Please let me know what works best for you all.

During exam stress, my head starts blasting. A strong hot coffee usually helps me push through the pain, but honestly, sleep is the real cure. Try to rest in a dark room along with having your coffee.

I have PCOS and hormonal migraines, and for me, caffeine is a hit or miss. Sometimes a small cup of ginger tea helps, but too much coffee gives me a rebound headache. I would say try a small amount carefully and see how your body reacts.
