Can caffeine cause stomach pain?

My morning coffee is a ritual, but lately, it's been giving me stomach pain, almost like a burning sensation after I drink it. I'm trying to figure out if it's the coffee itself causing this discomfort, or something else.

I have just started drinking black coffee to stay awake for my studies, but my stomach has started hurting quite a bit. Is it normal for caffeine to cause this kind of pain, or am I doing something wrong? Should I switch to milk coffee?

Yes, caffeine triggers high acid production in the stomach, which can easily cause pain and cramping.

Yes, coffee can sometimes make your tummy complain! Just try reducing your daily cups and drink plenty of water to keep the acidity away. You'll be absolutely fine, don't worry! 😊

Yes, it can definitely cause stomach pain because caffeine is highly acidic. I always make sure to have my morning tea only after eating a small portion of soaked almonds or a banana. It protects the stomach lining from getting irritated.

Caffeine is a known gastrointestinal irritant. It stimulates acid secretion and can cause painful spasms in your gut, especially if you have a sensitive stomach. Cut down your coffee intake immediately and the pain should subside.

I used to get terrible stomach cramps after my afternoon tea, it was so annoying! I realized drinking it on an empty stomach was the main issue. Now I always eat a biscuit or toast with it, and my stomach is totally fine. Try doing that!
